Sensitive information is collected and used only for the primary purpose of providing healthcare services, for directly related secondary purposes, with your consent, or where required or authorised by law.

Storage and Security

Personal information is stored securely in electronic and/or paper-based systems, including our practice management system (Cliniko). We take reasonable steps, consistent with guidance from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.

These measures may include:

• Secure password-protected systems and role-based access controls

• Use of reputable clinical software with encryption and security safeguards

• Secure storage and disposal of paper records

• Staff awareness of confidentiality and privacy obligations

• Regular review of information handling practices

Clinical records are retained in accordance with Victorian health records legislation, generally for a minimum of 7 years, or longer where required for minors.

Where personal information is no longer required for clinical or legal purposes, it is securely destroyed or de-identified in accordance with OAIC guidance and health records legislation.

Access and Correction

You may request access to your personal information or request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete information, subject to applicable legal requirements.
